Who We Are
Our values and why we do what we do.
After growing up in picturesque Portland, Maine, I earned my BA from The George Washington University, then spent a few transformative years teaching English in Costa Rica. It was during my time in Latin America that I discovered my love for yoga—a surprising twist given that my first experience with it left me… unimpressed. Initially, I was convinced that yoga wasn’t suited for my athletic, fast-paced self.
From the age of eight, I thrived in competitive sports like swimming and lacrosse, eventually rowing at the collegiate level (and still avoiding yoga). But my desire to “do more and be better” eventually led me back to the yoga mat. I embraced the challenge, aiming for advanced poses like splits and balancing upside down. Little did I know that this practice would change my life and evolve into my greatest passion.

Like you, we also have big goals. If it wasn’t for integrating yoga as a way of life, we wouldn’t have the health, success, and freedom we enjoy today.
As legendary teacher BKS Iyengar said, “The study of asana is not about mastering posture. It’s about using posture to understand and transform yourself.” Yoga has the power to help you heal, build strength, enhance flexibility, find balance, and feel at peace—not just in your body, but in your entire life.
